Everyday admin and public services

Move-in reports, certificates and taxes mostly run through Government24. Local foreigner support centres are the most underused resource.

Typical cost: Small certificate fees · Time needed: 10 minutes online, 30 minutes in person

Steps

  1. File a move-in report — Required within a set period after moving and tied to deposit protection. File on Government24 or at your community centre.
  2. Report your change of residence — Foreign residents must report address changes to immigration. Check the rule on HiKorea.
  3. Register with a foreign resident support centre — City centres offer free interpretation, Korean classes and legal or labour counselling.
  4. Understand taxes and year-end settlement — Employees may go through year-end settlement, and tax treaties can apply. Ask HR or a tax adviser.

What to bring

  • ARC
  • Lease agreement
  • Digital certificate or simple authentication

Good to know

  • Online services often break on identity verification. Visiting the community centre is usually faster.
  • For labour issues, the Ministry of Employment and Labour hotline 1350 offers multilingual counselling.
