Steps
- Apply within the required window — Long-stay statuses must register within a set period after entry. Check the exact rule for your visa type on HiKorea.
- Book your immigration appointment on HiKorea — Visits are effectively appointment-only and slots fill fast. Book right after you arrive.
- Prepare documents in advance — Passport, photo, application form, proof of address and status-specific documents. Bring both copies and originals.
- Extend before expiry — Extensions must be filed before your permit expires. Set two reminders: two months and two weeks ahead.
